EOS Floor
The one piece in the family the ceiling does not hold. Three oak bars interlock, and the porcelain body lies across the crossing.
The piece
The body is the family's hourglass: wider diamonds at the waist, narrower ones at the rim. It does not sit on the stand, it lies in it — the crossing of the three bars holds it, and that decision gives the lamp its tilted look. It works the ceiling above and a pool of light around a chair below.
The stand
Three turned oak bars, interlocked. A wooden peg holds the joint — no glue, no screws: the bars come apart by hand and go back together the same way. The logic of Japanese joinery, here not as ornament but as the way the lamp is assembled. Copper ferrules at the feet.
Light
The body works in two directions and the perforation draws onto the floor and the ceiling. Too little for reading, plenty for atmosphere — beside an armchair, in the corner of a sofa, in front of a window.
Size
154 cm overall. The porcelain body is 39 cm high and 30.6 cm at its widest, with a 23 cm top opening. With the body the lamp occupies 51.6 cm, and the stand settles on 43.9 × 42.7 cm.
